Did my laundry today and it led me to do a good deed (or two). After putting my load into a washer, I helped a woman unravel the oddities of how the machines work. After that got resolved, I moved my washed clothes to a dryer. As I packed the dryer, I noticed a leather bag that was just sitting on the counter. It had been left by someone but it wasn't clear who had left it. A couple was pulling out of the parking lot and I chased them down. They said it wasn't theirs. I asked the woman I had helped with the machines but she too said it wasn't hers. I then started to look through the bag to see if there was any identification. There was about $200 in the bag, a check book, and many other items. I opened the checkbook and dialed the telephone number on the checks. I got a message that the number had been disconnected. About then, an elderly woman came in and started unloading a dryer. I realized that she had walked out, past me, when I had arrived earlier. I asked her if the bag was hers and she said yes. She didn't seem to realize that she had left the bag there for nearly an hour, sitting out in the open with money showing through the open top. I gave her the bag. It was my good deed for the day!
Dreamed that I was in town near some railroad tracks. There was a woman who was trying to get to an address that was somewhat near the tracks, but in an old factory area with rundown buildings. I offered to walk with her to get to the place she wanted to find. She agreed and we started walking through the maze of buildings and streets that led to where she wanted to go. The dream ended as we were approaching the place she wanted to find.
I slept in late but got up about midday and ran some errands, did my laundry, and watched a film. It was a movie I had seen before--Tsotsi--about a young black man in Africa who ends up with a kidnapped baby. It's a good film and was easy to watch a second time even though I knew what was coming. I was somewhat surprised that I had already seen the film. I didn't recognize it by the cover art. It wasn't until the movie began that it dawned on me that I had already seen it.
