Long day--did not nap. Went to movement class, did some errands, and grabbed a bit to eat in the afternoon. Caught up on several TV shows. Watched them in the afternoon as the heat kept rising. Supposed to cool down some this weekend.
Watched Polanski's film Knife in the Water. Good film! The story dealt with three people who meet and end up sailing around a lake for a day. For many reasons the boat trip is not all smooth sailing. The mood of the film is dark and tension-filled. It was one of his early films but it has striking shots of the three actors--up close and personal. It's almost like the camera is a fourth person in each scene. Beautiful black and white production.
In an interview with the director about the film, he remarks that he was not a fan of Dogma--the Polish film movement. He said he preferred a steady camera image--not one that looks like the cameraman has PD or is masturbating while shooting scenes. He's direct. Have to say that about him.
PD weight training session tomorrow--lift those dumbbells!
