Moon day, Monday! Did some research regarding vision specialists--looks like the one M goes to takes Medicare and they are close by. Drove tonight to/from class at about sundown/8pm. Clearly (or not so clearly) my right eye is not working well. At night, every light looks like a fireworks display. It was a bit easier to navigate tonight versus last Wednesday mostly because I knew what to expect when I left class.
Went to a line dance class tonight. I had some problems with sideways movements. And my balance felt tenuous. But I knew the two dances that were taught--Cowgirl Twist and Ten Step. It's starting out as a pretty basic class--will see how it evolves. Head back to yoga class on Wednesday--will get a feel for how I do as the routine becomes more predictable. No line dance class next Monday--it's a holiday (Columbus Day perhaps??)!
I picked up some decks of classic game cards: Go Fish and Old Maid. Found them at Toys 'R Us--they have an extensive selection. They were out of stock on others but a salesperson said everything was on back order and would be in soon.
I felt out of sorts most of the day today. I came back from errands and slept some. I got up around 3pm and grabbed a green tea Frap. Came back and slept. Got up and ate some dinner and went to class. I felt good in class--my body recalled the feeling of movement and the music! There was joy in moving even though I kept feeling my legs and feet grow tense. Have to keep moving! Will move the cross trainer into my room and begin regular, daily striding.
Feel like there's lots (took many) details that I need to be doing. I believe that the PD is bringing on a form of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). I seem to be ringing all the bells in this category of symptoms (executive function, slow thinking, difficulty retrieving words, unable to multi-task or deal with lots of different inputs, forgetfulness). I would say that MCI is my most notable (to me at least) of the effects of the disease/medications. Time to train the brain (again)! Or is it entrain the brain?
