Had a PD dance class today. It was a good session. I had some tightness in my left upper leg still, but dancing seemed to ease that some. The instructors worked with contact improvisations today. Each student chose three attitudes (forms, positions) and then moved between the three in any way--freely. Music paced the movement and posing. We were divided up into groups. Each group performed their positions and movements as a group. The tableaux that were created at each holding position were breathtaking. There was a poignancy and emotion evoked that was truly felt by everyone. I wish we had some photographs of what was produced. This type of action moved me in last week's session and in today's. The movement and stillness are very expressive.
I dreamed last night, but don't remember what I dreamed.
Watched a movie, The Dresser, tonight. A good film! It's about an aging actor who performs one final play, King Lear, and expires. The story is all about the people around him who supported him in many ways, despite his harsh way of dealing with everyone. It was nominated for 5 Oscars, but failed to win in any category.
I have an acupressure session tomorrow--one more before the practitioner heads off for a vacation. Tomorrow's session will have to last for the several weeks he'll be gone. No PD exercise class tomorrow or until July--the instructor had to have knee surgery. (The crossword puzzle 4-letter word for knee is "genu" as in genuflect.) May she be able to do so after the surgery!
Got a batch of photographs of my oldest son's two daughters. They are growing like weeds!
