The new year is near! Haven't heard any premature fireworks so far, but they will soon be here. It was fairly cool most of the day. Now, the temperature seems to be staying in the 40s. Welcome in the new year with only a little frost perhaps.

Dreamed last night that I had been recalled to do some work in a company I had left. I seemed to know quite a few people and they were welcoming me back warmly. There was a problem with a set of controls that were built into the product. I discovered that one of the three settings was being automatically triggered when the other two controls were changed from their nominal values. I seemed to discover this problem by reviewing some of the specifications. The answer sort of jumped out to me as I reviewed the documentation. We, meaning most of the people at the facility, got together for a celebration once the word went about that a solution had been found.

I must have worked hard in the dream since I slept in quite late this morning. I think I recall waking up around 6AM and falling back to sleep until 8:30AM. That's about an hour longer than I usually sleep in. My whole day was shifted around by my late awakening.

Watched Strictly Ballroom tonight. It's an engaging film that was done on a shoestring budget. There was something about the Paso Doble music that was really moving for me. I'm going to watch the scenes with that music a few more times.

So, happy new year to all and to all a good night! I'll wake up in 2011! Having won the MegaMillion lottery perhaps! Why not?
