It is Saturday and that meant lots of sleep. I slept in late this morning, went out for a while, and came back and slept some more. I didn't do anything all that tiring, but I really zonked out anyway.
Watched a Chinese movie tonight--Sunflower. It's a film by a fairly young director. It depicted the lives of a family (and some friends) over a 30-year period. It was a well done film that dealt with the changes in China and in personal attitudes over the time span (1969-1999). Much of the action revolved around a father and son, and their conflicts and beliefs. It was an engaging movie and was like glimpse into the Chinese culture--a series of snapshots as things changed for the characters.
The father in the film had a neurological illness. Guess which one? Yes, he was afflicted with PD. The disorder prevented him from painting. He had lost his small motor control. His desire to be a painter was pushed onto his son, who was talented but not wanting to follow his father's desires.
There was an interesting panorama near the end of the film of elderly people in a large park. They were doing exercises, movement, and a host of physical activities. The scene made me want to get up and get out in the open air, and do some movement.
