Weight training again today! The 12-lb weights felt heavier than they did last year. The time off didn't help my muscles stay strong. I made it through today's workout but it was a push. Did a Qigong session late in the afternoon. Did well with that--managed to stay standing through the whole workout. Doing a session every day seems to be working. Keep it up, buttercup!
We had six people at the weight training class today. Not bad given the break and having to restart everything.
Heard some of an interview on NPR today with a biographer of Stephen Hawkings. Heard the amazing fact that he was only given a 2-3 year prognosis when he was first diagnosed with ALS. He's now almost 70 and still rolling despite the increased physical loss of motion. He may be the person with the longest documented life span who has had the disease. It's amazing to hear about what he has accomplished despite the limitations he's had to endure.
Gait and balance class tomorrow! Looking forward to getting back with the regimen.
