Almost St. Patrick's Day! May the sheen be on the green! I chose not to have a corned beef, cabbage and potato dish tonight. It looked great but I didn't need to challenge my metabolism. It would have been fun while I was eating but a turmoil on the other side.
Did resistance training today with 8lb weights. Some rib soreness but feels OK except when I go horizontal (on the floor, on a mat, or on a bed). Everything feels better today (versus yesterday and last night). Icy/hot patches help a lot. Will get a three-day respite over the weekend. That should put me back on track.
Watched a not-so-good movie tonight--The Road. It's a post-apocalyptic saga about a man and his son making a (for no good reason) trek across the devastated lands to get to the sea (or the South). The film has a lot of dark frames--to the point where I almost turned it off after watching what appeared to be almost a blank screen for many minutes. Overall, there seemed to be no overwhelming reason for the two of them to make the journey that they undertake. The father's death is heavily forecasted--so much so that I was ready to applaud when he took his final breath. There are several well-known actors in the film who are only on-screen for short takes. The film's budget was estimated to be about $20MM--it grossed about half of that on it's opening run. A case where a mildly interesting story was made into not so interesting film.
Time to sleep! In the very deep where there is no thing to keep, or make you weep. Asleep!
