No classes today! And none until Monday as well. Laundry day tomorrow! The cycles of motion and movement obscure the progress of the stars. Paid bills today--at least the ones now due at the end of the month. July is almost upon us.

Watched a pair of movies this afternoon--Police Story and The Assassination of Richard Nixon. The first is a Jackie Chan martial arts/police film that is silly and after a while boring. There are some spectacular stunt scenes (which caused a fair amount of damage to cast and crew) but after a while even they become too staged and inauthentic. Probably wouldn't say this to any of the stunt team in person.

The second film was a slowly exploding portrayal of a man who couldn't find a way to pull his life together and ends up doing something crazy--making an attempt at a terrorist act with the US president as a target. The actual events surrounding this story took place in the early 70s. Sean Penn plays the role of the feckless man almost too well. I wanted the character to get on with things so much so that my finger kept wanting to hit the FF button. Anything to not have to endure another episode of his falling into a deeper and deeper abyss.

Did a little weight lifting with my 5lb weights--just to remind my body of what it usually did on Friday afternoons. Will be happy to get back to workouts next week. 4th of July! Boom de boom!
