Day before the great turkey day! Peaceful time! I went to the H's to read the next chapter in the Baker book--The Anthologist. He is no doubt quite erudite and generally wacky; his stuff is hugely funny--at least the funny ones that we've read. His Human Smoke was not funny but very serious and ultimately shocking. Crowds were out and about today gathering the goods for the feast day tomorrow. I did a quick in and out at TJ's to grab a few essentials to make it through tomorrow. I was thinking about going to the Ananda dinner, but decided to just hang out instead. Will hike over to SB's for a latte tomorrow and otherwise shelter in place. I bumped into one of the PD classmates at TJ's. She was doing her shopping using one of those electric carts they make available.
Watched a Scottish film this evening--Rebus. It's a set of detective stories set in Scotland and driven by a DI John Rebus. The DVD I picked up was the 3rd on a set of three discs--the 4th story in the collection. It was a complex story about murders, gun running, white supremacy factions, and much more all wrapped into one story. As the name of the series implies, Rebus is a puzzle that has to be masterfully unraveled. Even so, I still got somewhat confused as the denouement took place. Who was who and who did what to whom? I am puzzled! I could watch it again but I probably will not. Just let the Rebus remain a rebus!
Today H performed his Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock when we finished the Baker chapter. What a gift!! His interpretation of what that poem is about is pure genius! It was a true privilege to be the sole audience for what he produced. I came away floating like the clouds. His other performance pieces are equally as brilliant. May he go ahead and record them and publish them to the Internet!
