Been a busy day! Woke up really early and ended up staying up. Picked up TA and gave him a ride to PD class. The class was truncated because of the instructor's schedule, but was fun and energetic--although somewhat smaller than usual because of the day change. We go back to a Tuesday class in June. After I dropped TA off after class, I went back home thinking I could nap until it was time to head back for a resistance session. Unfortunately, one of the apartment units has a steam cleaner/mega vacuum truck huffing away in the carport. No nap possible so I made a library run to take back DVDs and pick up replacements. Then grabbed a sandwich at my usual place in MV and then went on to resistance class. Classroom was really warm even though it was cool outside. Made for a steamy workout, but one which felt good.
Came home and watched a film--Missing Person. It's a somewhat neo-noir detective story that was marred by really dull and dated PI-style banter and some very confusing editing splices. The story was almost enough to make it work, despite the flaws, but didn't quite make it happen. The goofy somewhat happy ending was enough to make me cringe. The overall effect was that of looking through a comic book that was somehow morphed into a film. Missing Person was missing more than just that though.
Weekend begins and hurtles onward to Monday's holiday (originally known as Decoration Day, then changed to Armistice Day, and finally turned into Memorial Day). That means no C&M class this coming week. Will have to try and do some of the exercises on my own. There are three groups doing Tai Chi on Saturday mornings--one from 8:30am to 10am, one from 10 to 11:30, and another from 10 to 12. Each teaches a different style of Tai Chi. Two of the classes are taught back-to-back in the same convenient location--a park adjacent to the place where I'm on the waiting list for a senior apartment. Very interesting!
I'm drowsy tonight! Didn't have one of my daily naps so am feeling like an early to bed calling.
