Bay to Breakers tomorrow! And the lottery drawings are done! No big CA winners! I hit the mega number on the Mega Million draw--I get $2! Yippee! Helped pay for my laundry today. I got to the laundry place much earlier than usual--like around 8:30 or so! Place was a mess! It looked like a herd of nomads had trashed the place. Odd clothes and debris everywhere! The owner/manager must love it when he encounters such weird behavior. People can be strange!
When I finished doing the laundry, I grabbed some food at Printer's Inc (penne pesto pasta) and came home and napped for several hours. I seem to want to nod off in the early afternoon unless I'm in a class. When I awoke, I felt good--awake and alert! Naps are good! Yes they are!
Watched a British film this evening--Red Riding 1974. It's the first in a trilogy of films about killings and kidnappings that involve corruption and conspiracy by upper class people in a region of the UK called the Ridings. It was a somewhat chaotic film that was a bit hard to follow(may watch it again for that reason). But, it was compelling although somewhat brutal in places. I'm curious what the other two followup films are like (Red Riding 1980 and Red Riding 1983). They are all available through the library but there are holds on films 2 and 3 right now. I can put them on reserve.
Started checking out alternate eating places since CG closes tomorrow. Finding prices at most places to be somewhat high--although I was looking mostly at dinner menus. Breakfast, lunch and brunch menus, especially in the midweek, are more reasonable. But prices have in general gone up in the past few years despite the stagnation in the economy and the 1.2% cost of living increases.
