2803

Long day, but what the hey! It was the ex's birthday today and she drove down to spend it with her grandkid and family. She's doing well after the surgery and is looking good for her age--she's 66 now!

Our daughter made a hearty soup from the leftover ham shank of our Xmas repast. It contained potatoes, onions, carrots, Brussels sprouts, sausage, and more. It was tasty, filling, and a good firewall against the cold weather. They also made a carrot cake (with less oil and sugar than usual) and it was liked by all.

They went to see the movie Annie in the afternoon--I elected to rest and be quiet. It was a good choice!

A son and grandson of MD's are rumored to be dropping by tomorrow (or later in the week).

My daughter and her fiancé brought back good reports of the place they are considering for their marriage. Of course, the key factor is going to be money--an event like that with over 100 people is going to run a fair amount even if they economize. There will be more discussions on this topic as the new year unfolds.

Meanwhile, I look forward to some dancing before all that--dancing and moving, moving and dancing!
