Winter Solstice--longest night. It certainly seemed that way--I slept a lot but in fragments. I'm just now feeling like I'm awake--after eating some breakfast, getting a latte, napping for a while, eating a sandwich, and savoring some holiday candies that are displayed on the kitchen bar. MD apparently provided a trove of holiday candies--sweet!
Now that I've eaten a ton of food--I'm beginning to feel awake. I went to the gym in between the two food activities--and that feels good and is contributing to the awakening that I'm sensing. I think I need to eat more/better in the early morning hours--not doing well with having my first meal right around noon. I'm going to pick up a bullet blender--and start making morning smoothies. Should be able to pick up one of the units in the holiday sales period--shake, rattle, and roll!
Weather has turned mild--not so cold and windy today. It was more like a Spring day--sunny and bright. People everywhere--shopping until they are dropping.
One more day of relative quiet--then we'll be launched into the celebration chaos.
DH, the PD dance instructor in the Bay Area, birthed a daughter about one week ago. The photo DH sent to everyone is a picture of brightness and joy--well wishes to the H family!
