It's getting a little less cool at night and during the day. It's still cold, but a bit less so for a few days.

Had a lot of grandkid time today. She is smart--almost too smart. No matter what games we play, she learns to play quickly. She then wants to alter the rules and make the game "her game." I started today with teaching her tic-tac-toe. She played about one and a half games before she started altering the rules. There are many ways to play the game--or so I learned from her. The ultimate variation was when she was the X-player and she started the game and then proceeded to put an X in all of the nine spots. Of course, she won. She called this variation the tic-tac-toe Big game.

I finally got her to play Capture with me. Putting her initial in a completed box kept her playing for several rounds--until I ended up with a lot more of my initials. She then announced, of course, that the rules had to change.

She had a younger boy as a playmate this afternoon. The kids, my daughter, me, and my ex engaged in a marathon kid's day extravaganza replete with making food (pizzas, cookies), art (painting, drawing, and other craft activities, games (go fish, concentration, candy land, and more), eating food (especially the cookies that they made), watching a movie or two, running around the house, digging in the garden, and so much more that I don't remember.

This will be the third night I sleep with an eye shield over my right eye. Two more nights after that and I'll be done with the shield. Time to head for the bed!
