Dissociation rules! After reading the PDRecovery materials, I'm convinced that my "plateau" is self-induced. I'm locked in flight-or-fight mode as if there's a imminent, constant threat--and there is none.
The way out? Doing the "heart in the box" exercise a lot! Using the exercise to restore the "feeling" sense in place of the "frozen" or "I don't feel anything" response. Seems simple enough and seems to work, but requires a lot of practice and attention. But, what else do I have going?
Dreamed last night about giving directions to someone (an ex-wife) of how to navigate a hiking trail. It was a simple route. We were standing on a ridge and the road trailed off down the slope. In the distance there was a connecting road that had cars moving in the direction she was to walk.
Symptoms have been lighter the past few days, but I've had to sleep a lot. Feels like some shifting taking place though. Will do the heart-in/out-the-box and see what happens.
Neighbor's cat makes a mangled meow crying sound. May it find peace!
