3166-3165

It was late last night when I realized I hadn't made a post. I was too fried to try and squeeze one out, so I skipped and went to bed. Part of the frazzle was that I had spent a lot of the day doing research on getting a new phone. I went to bed unresolved on that issue.

Today, when I awoke I began to think of all the other service providers--and how their prices might vary. I went to the ATT store. It was after getting a demo of the big Samsung Galaxy Mega, the 6.3-inch SmartPhone, and trying to reconcile the cost, size, features and relative variations in service plans that I had a thought! Let my brain do some walking through the Internet! Google the device and any articles that do the comparison of service plans!

I did so and found a site that produces a comparison table for every device versus service plans. In the table that came up for the Galaxy Mega there were details such as how much I would have to pay out of pocket to contract for a device. Voila!

The Galaxy Mega was introduced at around $700 or so. The service with the best monthly costs provides unlimited calls, text, and data for about $70/month. That service wants $400 up front for the device. Through Amazon, there is an up front cost of $50! The service plan, which is through Sprint (my current carrier) is about $70/month for unlimited calls/text with 1GB of data. Since I don't plan on using the device a lot on the Internet, this option looks good.

And the device is "big"--I can easily see everything! I ordered one--it should be here in a few days.

I can then begin to learn yet another interface. I ordered a hands free wireless headset as well. I'm ready to do the Android boogie!
