First day of lots of protein! A bit difficult to take what's required and eat anything. But, I managed to do it all. Was a really warm day, which didn't make it easier to drink some aloe vera juice, take my supplements with the protein drink, eat something, use the topical creams, and do it all three times! I suppose I'm fortunate in that I can do all of these things on my own--it could be worse!

So one day down and six to go at this level. Then, reverse the steps and back my way out to the first week in reverse.

Chris from the PDTeam sent me my schedule of treatments out through August--the next five sessions. Hopefully, by then, I'll have gotten my body systems realigned from the nutrition work and be well along with recovery.

I read a teaching in the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying that speaks to me about the issues of ending hopes and fears--
Pray to put an end to hope and fear:

If it's better for me to be ill,
I pray for the blessing of illness.
If it's better for me to recover,
I pray for the blessing of recovery.
If it's better for me to die,
I pray for the blessing of death.

The Great Path of Awakening - Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche
This teaching puts the whole thing in perspective, puts the anxieties to rest.

There's also a teaching in the book that explores what can be done when difficulties are encountered. It says to be happy, be responsible and be grateful. Easier said than done, but a formula that makes a lot of sense. The secret is to shift the focus from self to others.

May all beings be well. May all beings be happy. Peace. Peace. Peace.
