It's the day before the Big Bang day! July 4th comes around tomorrow! Had a fine lunch with BH today (Brie, grilled zucchini with sesame seeds and spices, stuffed cabbage rolls, and figs and melon). Excellent!

GH and I watched Apocalypse Now (Redux). We have a suspicion that the original version makes for a better movie. The redux version is longer by 49 minutes. The extra, now included scenes, don't add all that much to the film, but instead slow it down. It's still a powerful movie, but I look forward to seeing the original for comparison. The movie must be incredible with a surround sound system.

Dreamed last night that I was part of a team of athletes. We were in some kind of competition (cycling, running, climbing, or??) where we were pitted against other teams. The competition took place in the mountains. We were housed in small cabins. There was snow and the weather was chilly. I don't recall that many details. We spent a lot of time huddled around a fire strategizing about what we planned to do when we started competing. I think we had a team liaison who was a woman. She was European and spoke with an accent.

One of the neighbors brought in a large steam-cleaning system today. They cranked it up (it was mounted on a truck) and proceeded to clean an apartment and some cars. What an ungodly racket early in the day. I still managed to sleep through some of the noise. I love my late morning sleep time.
