Dreamed last night of preparing for a trek in a mountainous area that had a lot of running waters. To get to the base camp site, we had to traverse several swollen streams. We were in 4WD vehicles, but were having problems fording several flooded areas as we neared the base camp location. We had to unload some of the gear and port it by hand to the site. The vehicles had to be abandoned on some high points. The base camp site was a series of caves that wormed their way back into the ridge area. We hauled the gear into the caves and distributed it into various sleeping areas. There was a running joke about one team member. He had missed most of the training and prep work for the trek. The joke was that he was on his way and would appear as we were about to start--that the trek leader would have to deal with him for the entire time. The trek leader was not amused.

Had a B-day brunch with L today. Treated myself to a smoke salmon scramble, home fries, a biscuit, and 1/2 of a fruit-covered waffle. Was delicious. I came home and slept, which was also delicious. Tomorrow--chiropractor in the morning and lunch with my friend P. Then probably another nap. We shall see!
