Weak ends! Been a busy few days filled mostly with films. Watched a documentary about the myths and traditions in Mobile, AL that take place around Mardis Gras. It was called Order of Myths. It was an interesting history of the Mardis Gras traditions that are kept by the white and black residents of the town. It was unique in that it was filmed around 2007 but didn't contain any references to Hurricane Katrina. The storm did a lot of damage to that city, but the film stayed focused on the parades, costumes, and festivals that take place each year.
I also watched I Am Sam. A heartrending story of a father, who is learning disabled, and fights for custody of his daughter. Sean Penn and Dakota Fanning had the key parts. Penn's performance was difficult to watch--he was very convincing as the father who was developmentally about seven years old. The plot basically skipped over the first seven years and focused on a court battle that took place when the daughter was seven. A bit improbable, but it moved the action along.
It's quiet again here tonight. The families are out and about so the kids are not terrorizing the place. I have a CW dance class tomorrow. Looking forward to some movement. I vegetated throughout the week end (weak end).
I believe I dreamed last night about scenes that were associated with the movie I had watched (Arranged). The dreams dealt with the orthodox rituals in the film that I had to deal with as I slept. There were several replays of movie scenes with me in the action. The dream was very detailed and played like a movie.
