Slow, hot day! Slept in this morning after waking up early. By noon, I'd managed to get up, eat a bit, and roll back in bed until I rolled up, showered, and went forth into the warming day. Tomorrow is supposed to cool off some, but we'll see what we see when the day arrives. Had a resistance training session in the afternoon, which felt good and unkinked some of the kinks I was carrying. Stopped on the way back from class and grabbed a Frappuccino at Starbucks (Grande Green Tea with 1 pump of Classic and whipped cream--yum!). It tasted so good! And, I didn't nap out when I got home. Went out to TJ's and picked up some grocery items. The AC in the truck and in TJ's took some of the edge off of the heat.
Dreamed last night that I was being followed or surveilled for some reason. I was with a group of people and we were in a house that was set on a slight hill overlooking the street. As I stood by a window, I watched a car drive slowly by and then circle and return. The car stopped in front of a bicycle rack to which our bikes were locked. The man in the car reached out of his window and used a bolt cutter to slice through one of the chains--the one that held my bike. He stuffed the bike in the rear seat of the car and took off. I ran from the house, yelling at him in a futile attempt to stop him. I was upset and angry--for both the theft and the surveillance.
Watched a German/Italian detective episode (one of a series of mysteries)--Brunetti. The odd thing about the series is that the stories take place in Venice but the dialog is in German with English subtitles. The episode format is similar to Midsomer Mysteries and other series of police dramas. The material for the stories are taken from the works of crime novelist Donna Leon. The filming location, Venice, provides a luscious backdrop for the scenes with lots of boats, barges, and incidental beauty. I have a second episode still to be perused but the first one was interesting and well done. Will look for more. It's both early and late--think I'll brush my costly dental surfaces and read my way to sleep.
