Longest day of the year! Daylight races with dawn! Summer Solstice! Oh, yeah!
Awoke early last night--perhaps around 4am--and I couldn't get back to sleep. Tossed and turned for a while until dream time overcame my alertness. Still was up and about much earlier than usual. Wrote a note to my PCP letting her know that we should proceed with the colonoscopy. Also dropped a note to my daughter saying that I was interested in her proposal and what should we talk about and discuss regarding me making such a move.
The PCP replied telling me she got my go ahead and that the scheduling people would contact me.
I went to resistance training class. It felt good to exercise and move about. I talked with a class visitor from southern California. He remarked how few facilities/programs for PWP were in his area. I had noticed the same to be true of the area where my daughter lives. I think I can put together a regimen there but it probably won't be as comprehensive as what I'm doing now or as centralized in one facility. I've searched the web for that area and have discovered a couple of starting points--but I won't be able to locate actual candidates until I'm settled in at the new location.
I proposed that I use July to finish up any dental/medical issues that I need to conclude here. And begin the sorting/packing process that must be done. I would then give a 30-day notice when I pay the rent in August and plan on making the move in the third or fourth week of that month. In some ways, I feel that this timeline is too tight, but I just need to bite the bullet and make the move--can't drag it out forever! And there is the myriad of details that must be handled (clerical items mostly but everything will take some time).
Of course, I'll have to address any unexpected results with the colonoscopy--the big unknown! I don't think that there is anything dire but I won't know for sure until the procedure is done. To make a bad pun: in the end I'll know everything!
