Well the day after the traffic accident was a busy one. Went to the rental car place (up the street) and picked up a vehicle. Rented a Toyota Prius! What a trip! The car is like a space ship. It is filled with instrumentation--more than I care to have. The car is trippy but a lot of technology that has to be quickly absorbed. Not what everyone would be happy about.

Haven't heard from AAA yet--awaiting a call. The online message I sent re the accident was collected and I received a response saying I can expect a call.

Was told by my landlord that he is planning to change the apartment windows to double-pane. He will making the changes over the next few days. That will help with moderating the rooms' temperature. But it is not a convenient given last night's accident and maintaining my classes. Go with the flow!

Dreamed night before last that I was in a multi-storied building that had two floors below ground. It was an interesting dream that involved being introduced to a variety of technologies and products.

Had trouble sleeping last night. Will need to get up early in the morning in case the window replacement team appears to start the renovations. I have two classes scheduled tomorrow. The beat stumbles on!

PD dance and weight training sessions today! They felt good! But the afternoon went awry! I went out for a bowl of soup around 5pm. Went to the CG since they have nice soups with a big slab of cornbread. Soup was great!

On the way back, I stopped at the intersection of San Antonio and El Camino. I was in the middle lane. The light turned green and the three cars heading north started across the intersection. As we neared the middle of the intersection, a car came flying across from our left. He had run his red light!

He clipped the car on my left, shoved it into the left side of my truck, and pushed me into a car with a woman and child on my right. Meanwhile, the guy who had run the light and set off the chain reaction was rolling through the intersection. His car looked like it had gone airborne and rolled to a stop against the curb on his right. From what I was told, the driver of the rollover was sent to the hospital. The three of us that smashed into each other were not hurt, including the child. But my vehicle is going to need some work.

I was able to drive it home despite the wheel well being crushed inward. I managed to park it on the curb since there were odd noises when I tried to back up. It was fortunate that there wasn't more damage.

The guy who got hit on my left took damage on both side of his car. The woman on my right got only light damage to her vehicle. I took damage mostly on my left side. The rollover was probably totaled.

If the guy who hit us has insurance, we'll be lucky. Otherwise, my $500 deductible will be the most I ever will pay for a bowl of soup! To be continued!

Slept poorly last night. I kept dozing off and then waking up after sleeping a while. Left me feeling logy this afternoon and caused me to nod off in my chair for a spell. Cold weather is not helping. The weather is cool and damp with a constant chilling effect.

I dreamed that I sold everything that I owned. In the dream, I found myself in an empty apartment with everything gone. I also went on a trip to SoCal with a rental truck containing all the things I had left. In SoCal, I moved into a quiet place in a small community called Vista. I had talked with my SoCal son about making such a move--the dreams just fleshed out the details.

Bumped into R (friend of the H's) at Whole Foods this evening. She was there with a friend eating some dinner. I joined them with my Thai Basil Shrimp dish. R was at the H's for Thanksgiving dinner.

Heading for the bed! Ready to sleep some more! PD dance and weight training tomorrow! Alright! OK! Lift those weights and make my day!

Lazy day! It's gone away. The moon and stars now make their way without delay. What can I say? Time to end this endless play!

Slept much today. Managed to get up and out for a spell. But kept wanting to sleep and dream.

Dreamed that I was in charge of a huge set of documents. They needed to be copy edited. The task was monumental. There were stacks of pages that had been printed out. The pages were piled all over the place. I had begun the work but I was feeling overwhelmed by what needed to be done.

Also dreamed about getting rid of everything that I owned. I sold some things and gave other items away. I ended up in an empty room. Everything in the room had been disposed of.

Watched a movie tonight--The Lost City. It was about Havana during the time of the Cuban revolution. The film was a bit long and turgid. The music and dancing were highlights, but the whole piece was not all that compelling. There was an awkward cameo role played by Bill Murray. His lines were poorly scripted and he couldn't save them. Dustin Hoffman also appeared in a cameo that was somewhat better written and portrayed. Andy Garcia had the lead and he directed as well (his first shot at directing). The whole thing could have been better.

Back to a full week of classes and such. Ready for it! Thankful that Thanksgiving is over!

Oldest son and his family dropped by today. It was a joy to see all of them. Time goes by so quickly! We had a good visit over a tasty breakfast at the CG. I came back (and you guessed it) and fell asleep for a few hours.

I watched an enjoyable film tonight--Vitus. It's a German film about a boy prodigy and his maturation and his family interactions. He uses an injury to help him conceal his skills and talents so that he is not pressured by the adults. On his own, he goes on to achieve mastery of several things in his life that affect the lives of those around him. It was a crisp, thoughtful film that was well acted and directed.

The holiday weekend seems long and drawn out. I'm ready to head back into classes.

3831

Busy day! I dusted the entire place and put several piles of papers into order. I cleaned the toilet. I didn't get to the shower so that's next on my list. It was the most work I've done fully in a long while. Ended the day with a Qigong practice and a five-color meditation. Hopefully, can begin to do the Qigong practice every day. I can't stand through the whole session so I sit through the final two forms. But, I'm getting stronger.

SoCal family coming tomorrow. We'll head out for breakfast and some catching up.

Got an email that one of the people in the PD dance class is in the hospital. She was getting quite fragile. She also has some infections which are probably the reason she has started falling. Hopefully, they can curb the infections and get her mobile again.

I had a tasty Thai fish dish for lunch today. Also treated myself to a green-tea latte as a reward for my cleaning session today. Gave me the boost to complete that task when I got home.

Cool night tonight! Supposed to warm up over the next few days. Let it be so!

3832

Long Thanksgiving Day! Dinner at the H's was a delight. Only a few people--interesting people. And the food was excellent. Much to give thanks for!

After about three hours though, I began to fade. The dinner went on for about another two hours, but I was feeling buzzed out by it all. Weather has turned cooler and that is not helping me with my symptoms.

Ready for the beddy! Keep it steady, Eddy! Time to sleep, to dream, to touch the stars!

3833

The thanksgiving fetes are on their way. I went to Whole Foods to pick up some items for tomorrow's dinner. Foolishly, I went at noon! It was like a mob scene. Parking was being "managed" and things were in total chaos. I managed to get in and out without as much difficulty as I imagined when I got into the stores. What a crowd of people!

Watched a Korean sci-fi film tonight--2009 Lost Memories. It was a story of what might have happened if time travel was possible and history was rearranged. It was a clever story. It was a bit long. There were a lot of shoot-em-up scenes with improbable amounts of bullets being sprayed everywhere.

Got a call from my SoCal son. They are coming up this way for the weekend. Will see them on Saturday. Look forward to seeing them. It's been a while!

3834

PD dance class and weight training session today! Dance was fun! I was asked to lead people in doing the CW 2-step. It was fun to see everyone dancing to the music. Weight training wasn't as much fun as dancing, but it felt good. Will be a long week until we restart classes again. Will have to make do on my own until we begin again next week (AT--after turkey).

I had a glitch with my DSL line this evening. The wireless modem had flaked out a few months ago. One solution was not to turn off the modem since it was having trouble booting up. That solution worked fine up until today. The modem seemed to have frozen up so I had to try to reboot it. It took a long time, flipping the power button off and back on, before the modem finally rebooted. I thought it was dead. It managed to revive once more--for how long I don't know. Guess I should look into replacing it, but I also may need to replace my computer (it's getting a bit old and may not be updated much longer). Anyway, the techno-scare has passed for now, but I need to start making upgrade plans I suppose.

I've had dreams about old projects and products that I've worked on over the years. Blasts from the past keep happening during dream times. Will be shopping tomorrow for stuff to take to dinner with the H's on turkey day. No classes tomorrow. Weather got cool as night fell tonight.

Let the good times bowl!

3835

Coolness prevails! Didn't wear my shawl to bed last night and was awakened by the chill in the room. Have to shawl-up before wrapping myself in blankets.

Thanksgiving is creating a tsunami of shoppers who are packing up the food items. Have a PD dance class and a weight training class tomorrow. Then, no classes for a week! Have to keep up some of the regimen. A week off is a long time between movements.

Watched a film tonight--The Hours. It's based on a novel about three women (Virginia Woolf, a housewife, and a modern woman) with the thread being Mrs. Dalloway, a character in one of Woolf's novels. The film had a high energy troika of actors (Meryl Streep, Juliann Moore and Nicole Kidman). Kidman was unrecognizable! They reworked her hair, nose, eyes and cheeks, transforming her into a brooding Woolf. The story started off a bit slow, but the resolutions and overlaps came together in the end. Good film! Ed Harris must have starved himself to come off looking so emaciated in his role.

What will the day be like tomorrow? What will the dawn be like today? My dreams are of memories; my memories are of dreams!

3836

Rain and coolness fills the air! Thanksgiving week is about to happen! Turkeys beware! Although it's probably too late for many of them.

Watched a German movie tonight--Everyone Else. It was a somewhat plodding rift on the theme of life in today's world. The story centered around a couple who were attracted to each other but with each having issues around their relationship. The film focused closely on their interactions which made the action somewhat claustrophobic. The story came to a non-conclusion and was difficult to watch throughout--it made me uncomfortable.

I didn't get anything done this weekend except my laundry and a lot of sleep.

I dreamed last night and this afternoon but I don't recall the details. The content of the dreams was very graphic--like photographs that were being animated.

Saturday, November 19, 2011

3837

Rains today! The gentle patter and spatter of the liquid sky! I did my laundry this morning before the steady showers developed. I feel achy and heavy today. The coolness and dampness is not helping. I feel good wrapped in blankets and snuggle in the bed.

Watched an interesting movie tonight--The Method. It's a Spanish film, set in Madrid, about an HR firm's bizarre hiring interview technique. Several potential employees are brought together in a conference room. The mind games begin! It's like an Apprentice or Survivor scenario where the candidates try and eliminate each other. Of course, there is a "mole" in the group--a person who is already an employee of the HR department. Candidates reveal themselves as they vote out one person after another, until only two remain standing. A good film. The plot is somewhat like a fair number of mystery/puzzle films, but well done. The writer did The Sea Inside, Vanilla Sky and others.

People are out shopping, in droves. Most likely, they are gathering the Thanksgiving Feast.

3838

Weight training class today was lightly attended. The coming Thanksgiving holidays and the spate of rain took their tolls. I did well with the 12lb weights. I did come home and took a nap before heading out to dinner.

Laundry time tomorrow!

Had a tasty dinner at the CG. Pappardalle--a spinach pasta with chicken, asparagus, onion, garlic, Parmesan, and a chicken broth. Tasty, hearty, and filling.

Will be heading to bed to read early tonight. I got to sleep late last night and was somewhat tired as a result.

Thursday, November 17, 2011

3839

Did a Qigong session this morning and a movement class in the afternoon. Came away feeling dense and slow. I slept in as late as possible this morning and then plodded off to class. Weather is cool and damp, and is making me achy. Weight training tomorrow!

Had some techno issues today. My laptop wouldn't pick up my email this morning. The problem "self-healed" itself. Only, once it was working, I got a lengthy notification from my bank about all of the charges they are introducing next year. The notice was hefty and I couldn't get a real sense of what they are doing or not doing. Will take some study! Don't like the complication.

Watched part of a movie about a punk rock band, The Germs. The movie is titled What We Do in Secret. I guess I'll never know--I hit the eject button fairly soon after it started. I ended up watching the movie Milk. It was a well done film. Sean Penn was good in the role of Milk. It was like watching a ghost in some ways. Penn brought Milk to life. The beginning was a little slow, but things picked up as Milk became more and more active in his political world.

3840

Gait and balance class today. We did a range of exercises involving throwing a plastic ball from hand to hand. I awoke really late for class but managed to get it together and get there on time. It was close though. I almost turned over and went to sleep. I could have easily slept through the whole morning.

After class, I grabbed a sandwich and did some shopping. Target has some thermal pullovers that look good and feel good. I bought two last week and picked up two more today. I'm relatively set for awhile.

Watched a quirky film tonight--In Custody. Not sure what the title has to do with the content of the film. The film is set in India and deals with a educator's attempts to record a nationally-known Urdu poet. The film was very much an Indian film with all manner of strange twists and turns--some of which helped bring some clarity to the action. The film was nothing spectacular, but was enlightening in some ways about India and Urdu.

3841

It's only Tuesday but I keep thinking that it's later in the week. A combination of DST shift, weather shift, and schedule change (dance class yesterday instead of today). Had PD weight training class today. Managed to deal with the 12lb weights but we didn't do the compound exercise, which gave me back problems last week.

Watched a movie tonight--The Invisible. I'd seen this movie about a year ago. I seemed to recall it as it played tonight, but not so much that I didn't watch it. I'm amazed at how much of a film I seem to forget--even one as visceral and intense as the one I watched tonight. I would think that I'd have recalled more of it. However, it was like a mild deja vu.

Gait and balance class in the morrow! Full week of movement and exercise despite my sleeping the weekend away (and part of each day). Got a link to a YouTube video of a young Korean man singing like an angel. His voice quality was so moving that he had everyone in the audience crying. Good fortune to him as his life now unfolds in a totally new way.

3842

PD dance class was great today. We did some impromptu cha-cha steps that were a kick. I found I could do the rhythm and turns well. Dance the dance!

Met with GH and read some from the Rimbaud novel. GH is gathering an intriguing amount of information on Rimbaud and his brief life.

Have a PD weight training class tomorrow. Will see if I can get back to the 12lb weights.

I almost overslept this morning. I glanced at the clock, nodded off and awoke to find that I had dozed for an hour or more. Had to hump it to get to class. Made it with a minute to spare!

3843

Sleepy, busy Sunday! Did some resting, some eating, some shopping, a movie, some reading, some Qigong, and maybe more. Have PD dance class tomorrow plus reading aloud with GH.

Watched a Russian film (that I've seen before but didn't remember from the album cover)--The Mirror. It is a very subjective film with a mix of documentary footage, live segments, and lots of flashbacks and mystery elements. It is rated at 100% in Rotten Tomatoes, but it wasn't all that compelling for me. It was like watching a dream unravel with no clear reason for most of the action. Would like to see more this director's work, but don't think the library carries anything else.

I dreamed a complex, almost exhausting, dream series last night. There was an opening scenario in a house (that looked familiar--I'd seen it in other dreams) where a group of people were having drinks and appetizers before heading to a theater. We were going to see either a movie premiere or some kind of staged performance. Most everyone was taking some kind of transport from the house to the event. I decided to drive myself to the place.

When I arrived in the vicinity of the theater, I became confused as to where I could park and be near the place. I finally found a parking space that I thought was near the theater. The space was close to the theater entrance, but I had difficulty navigating to it when I started walking in that direction.

The show was a staged performance, which wasn't all that compelling. People were talking to each other and ignoring the show. Finally, the show concluded and we (people in the theater) mobbed out onto the street. Some were waiting for transport to arrive to take them back to the places where they had been picked up. I began to look for my vehicle, but nothing looked familiar.

I stood around for a bit, thinking that the crowds would diminish and I'd have a clearer view of the area. The crowds did thin out but nothing looked familiar to me. I walked to the end of the transport staging area and found that I was on a large open-aired truck bed. There were many people on the truck. I tried to find out where the truck was going and what was involved to catch a ride. I had several confusing conversations with people. Everyone kept referring to "Brother." They would answer my questions with an intonation of "Brother, Brother, Brother!" Their demeanor was weird and strange. I finally jumped off the truck and walked back down to the theater entrance.

Then, there was an entire dream sequence of me looking for my vehicle. I walked down dark and scary streets, through neighborhoods that should not be walked through at night. I went into dumpy cafes and bars. I managed to get some information from a few people where I might look for my vehicle and how to get to where I had parked it. I finally found the car and got out of that area. The dream left me jittery.

3844

Slept a lot today! Felt good! Also ate a lot! Tasted good! Had a waffle for brunch, covered in an apple compote, whipped cream and butter. Rounded it off with some apple-chicken sausage. It was delicious!

Had some turkey, dressing, gravy and butternut squash for dinner. Had a craving for these items and Whole Foods made it happen.

Watched The Last King of Scotland this evening. It's a film about the Idi Amin, the Ugandan dictator and his regime. It is told from the POV of a Scotsman who became the physician and adviser to the leader. The lead was played by Forest Whitaker in a challenging portrayal. An incredible performance!

Dreamed last night that I was working with a team of people. We were creating a piece of software that would let users export and import graphic images seamlessly without a lot of intermediate steps. I was showing the team a series of commands that outlined the file translation tasks. We were having problems with a few of the command features. I was demonstrating what was not working and how to get around the issues. The dream was set in a spartan warehouse with functional workstations but no amenities.

3845

11-11-11 is almost complete. Healing prayers have been unleashed and meditative murmurings are almost done. Also is a time of the full moon. Forces and energies being lavished on the globe.

I went through the Qigong DVD session this morning. Found it difficult to do the nine repetitions of every form, but that should happen with repetition. The DVD is really well done. I did most of the pranayama breathing before turning to the Qigong forms. Took me about an hour to go through the full set of activities. Energy levels felt good today.

Went to the PD weight training class. Did the class with lighter weights--to give my back muscles a rest. Seemed to work. Session went smoothly without any sense of strain or aggravation.

Dreamed a set of somewhat dull dreams. Everything in the scenarios was flat and sparse. It was like looking through a collection of cartoon panels of what would normally be actual scenes.

Watched a thriller movie tonight--Collateral. It starred Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. I'd seen the film before--some time ago. I didn't recall the film's ending until it happened on the screen. Interesting to not have recalled such an intense conclusion, but that's what happened. Most of the film replayed as I had seen it previously. Just the ending was like watching something new.

I had a scary incident today--I went to make a right turn off a busy street. There was a young kid and a man with a child in a stroller on the curb. I looked at them, checked for any cross traffic, and then started to make the turn. Meanwhile, the kid and the man with the stroller had stepped off of the curb and were in the crosswalk. Fortunately, I stopped, but the man got really angry (understandably so). I was shocked at what I had done. It really rattled me. Thank goodness no one was harmed. Have to be more attentive!

3846

Started the Qigong classes today. Began with a lengthy pranayama session. Don't know if I've ever breathed so heavily and so much. Class felt good. Left me a bit buzzy and hyper, but movement class in the afternoon slowed things back down. I came home and climbed into bed and slept for a few hours.

The Qigong DVD is done really well. Good use of computer animations to underscore what movements are being done and how the energy is flowing. Disc 2 has additional materials, but the stretching exercises are bit too intense. There is a meditation segment on Disc 2 that is nice. A piece on walking forms of Qigong seems a bit strained and strange. I'm going to integrate the basic practice (including the breath work) into my daily activities. It feels right and is something I can do at home.

Tomorrow is the magic day--11/11/11. Will join the worldwide gatherings that will be sending out healing thoughts all day tomorrow.

3847

I have strained or pulled a muscle in my back. It is aggravating especially with the cool weather. I believe it was caused by the compound lifting exercise in the weight training class. The exercise puts a lot of strain on the muscles in the upper back. Hopefully, the Qigong and movement classes tomorrow will help loosen everything and smooth out the tensions.

Had a good gait and balance class today. I noticed, once again, that most of the people in the class are having a lot of trouble with mobility. We did a patterned movement today that involved stepping forward, to the side, backwards, to the opposite side, and repeated everything for the reverse steps to get back to the starting point. Most everyone was having trouble with these movements, especially when the cadence was faster. I noticed that I could do the movements using a hopping step and could maintain the pattern and the cadence.

After class, I went to the H's to read aloud from the novel about Rimbaud. Then grabbed a tasty plate of pupusas at the new Salvadorian cafe. Had a cheese-stuffed (con queso) pupusa and a pork-stuffed one. They come with a pickled cabbage dish and salsa. They are a bit greasy but are really tasty.

Dreamed a series of dreams involving people from the men's group. We were planning and going on a camping trip. The dreams intermixed over the past few nights and afternoon naps. I awoke from today's nap having dreamed that we were at a camp site, but had brought too much food and forgotten certain items like sleeping bags. The ending dream was heavy and filled with the anxiety of not having done things well.

3848

PD dance and weight training sessions today. The classes helped take the chill off of the day. It was really cool last night. Got a nice flower arrangement for doing my part of the dance showcase we did a few weeks ago. It was a thoughtful acknowledgment. We got good feedback regarding how we performed and its content. People were moved to tears.

Watched a French film tonight--Summer Hours. I had seen this film last year but didn't recall that I had done so until the film started playing. It was another of those French films that ends up with everything in disarray and mystery. I didn't think much of the film last year, and the same holds true now. Juliette Binoche couldn't save it (she was the lead actor). None of the characters ever became real enough--they were all caricatures--no substance.

I've had two encounters on the Internet with remnants of my friend PH who passed away. I've gotten spam messages with her name and address, and she pops up on Facebook as a possible friend. Spooky! People live on in cyberspace! The beat goes on!

3849

Grabbed a Gorditas at the new Salvadorian fast food place down the street. It's within walking distance (actually a perfect round trip distance) from my apartment. Food is still up for evaluation. I had a Gorditas--a sandwich made with meat and deep fried. It was OK but I'm ready to try some of their other dishes. I had hoped for pizole but they don't offer it. The place was busy for a location that just opened. It's a franchise and there are other locations. More later!

Watched an odd film tonight--Birth. It's a fantasy story about a 10-year-old boy who knows everything about a grown woman's deceased husband. The boy claims to be her husband, brought back to life/consciousness. The lead is Nicole Kidman. The film is not that captivating. It borders on being about child exploitation--30-year-old woman buying into the story of a 10-year-old kid--along with other family members who act as if they buy into the charade. Oh, well! Not all films can be great!

Still cold today although a bit warmer than yesterday. But did turn on the heat this evening. First time since last winter. It's heading into the 30s tonight. Had a tuina session this afternoon. Felt good! No more sessions scheduled until December. Long time away!

3850

Slept in this morning and slept some more in the afternoon. Trying to sync up with the change in DST. Have "fallen" back on all my clocks but my spirit is still trying to figure things out.

Watched a movie this evening--Presumed Innocent. It's a murder mystery that I have seen before, some time ago. It's about a prosecutor who gets arrested for a crime he didn't commit. Harrison Ford is the lead actor. Ford is subdued in this role compared with his other adventure-type castings. Good plot and storyline!

It's staying cool--cool and damp. Will get a tuina session tomorrow. GH called and changed our reading time to Wednesday.

3851

Cool and wet! That's how the day has been. It was a bit warmer today versus yesterday and last night. But, can tell that winter is on its way. Did laundry. Place was sort of busy today. Guess it's do your laundry time. The people who run the Laundromat put in a small TV. It's mounted up high in the corner of the room and the sound is drowned out by the machine noises. It's also mounted so that the only seats in the place are directly underneath the monitor. So you can't sit and watch the screen. Just another of life's odd events.

Bumped into GdB when I stopped in downtown MV for a sandwich. His life is a tale of woe--nothing truly tragic, but things like debts, over extension, and dissatisfaction. His wife lives in Michigan and he lives out here. They pay two mortgages and have to deal with the cross country lifestyle. He never seems to have a really permanent job--always a consultant on a limited contract.

I watched a supposedly funny movie tonight--Cold Souls. It produced a few laughs and a few moments of lightness. Mostly, though, it was highly improbable and not all that hilarious. It dealt with a consortium of characters who were in the soul storage and procurement business. They could extract your soul and put in storage. They could also transplant souls from one person into a willing recipient. The film is both fantasy and humor gone awry!

DST is upon us! Fall back! Fall back! Clickety -clack, clickety-clack!

3852

Cool day and evening (also last night). Symptoms are more pronounced when things get cool. Have to snuggle up under multiple blankets and such. Keeping warm helps smooth out symptoms.

Had a weight training session today. I felt a bit stronger with the 12lb weights. I think I was still feeling the after effects of yesterday's QiGong activity. I'm feeling more grounded and solid.

Did have a green tea latte after the weight training class. Gave me a light boost as the evening arrived. Laundry day tomorrow.

Thursday, November 03, 2011

3853

Busy day! Made it to the QiGong sample session. It went well! I experienced an infusion of energy and aliveness. I'll take the 5-session class and see where that takes me.

Movement class was fun and a good match to the QiGong activity. Grabbed some lunch and ran some errands (didn't feel like napping like usual). Then went to the tuina session--which felt good and left me energetic and awake. Long day but a good day. One of the best in some time.

Dreamed last night about being on a project. The head of the project was very demanding. He took pleasure in criticizing our work, especially mine. He kept sending jabs my way when I tried to present my work. It was frustrating and made me angry and upset. Not sure how the dream resolved.

Watched a somewhat awful movie tonight--Color me Kubrick. It was about a man who impersonated Kubrick for about a decade and got away with the many scams he developed. John Malkovich played the lead role but he was so weird and over the top that the result was more creepy than entertaining.

Weather has turned damp and cool. I don't do well with the seasonal shifts. I'm still thinking of beaches, warm sand and tropical mists. PD weight training tomorrow. Lift those dumbbells!

Wednesday, November 02, 2011

3854

Gait and balance today was informative. Noticed that most of the people in the class have trouble walking and making a turn. I was surprised by how many had this problem. It was a simple test of walking forward three steps and then making two 90-degree turns. Many had trouble making the three steps; most had a problem with the turns. I didn't feel that I had any difficulty with these moves--perhaps the only one in the class who did not. Interesting data point!

There's a free QiGong class in the morning. It's just before the movement class. Also have a session in the late afternoon with the tuina person. Should be a busy but fun day!

Slept this afternoon. Had a large lunch and came back and collapsed. GH canceled movie night tonight. He was not feeling well. May he stay healthy.

Tuesday, November 01, 2011

Weight training today! We're doing a compound exercise that is definitely difficult. I have to drop to 8lb weights to do a series of 8 repetitions, and I barely make it through. It was easier to do the exercise today, but still a stretch. Keep on lifting!

No dance class today. Felt somewhat dislocated without it. PD gait and balance in the morrow.

For some reason, one of my medication prescriptions was canceled. Had to contact the pharmacist and she restored the order. Maybe had something to do with the date--1/11/11. Only 1s allowed!

Dreamed last night but didn't recall any of the details.

DST adjusts the clocks at the end of this week. We fall back! We now go 8 months "sprung" forward, and only fall back for four. Maybe we should be "sprung" all the time!

I'm working on increasing my energy levels. It's going slowly, but I believe I'm making progress. We shall see! We shall see! In the sea, we're soon to be! Like a key! Like a key!
