What went well today:
  • Dreamed last night that I was in a car in England. We were driving on the opposite side of the road than we do here. I kept getting confused as we came to turns and round-abouts. I couldn't visualize in my mind what side of the road we should be on once we made a turn or redirection. No matter what we did, it felt odd and disorienting.
  • Had some light rains today. Cleared the air and refreshed everything.
  • Sent off a rent check.
  • Had a tasty lunch at Printers.
  • Made a library run and picked up some new DVDs.
  • Watched part of a silent movie The Docks of New York. Exquisite b/w photography. Film was done in 1928 by Von Sternberg.
  • Heard a couple of radio shows today on the brain and how it works. There's another tomorrow on music and PD. Tuning in!
  • Slept in this morning and napped throughout the day. No classes this week--feel like I'm on vacation.
Had a redness/flushing episode today. It was not as intense as yesterday's episode.

What went well today:
  • Dreamed last night that I was part of a dance troupe. In an early part of the dream, I was in rehearsals with the troupe. At some point, I left the practice hall and went home. While there, I became involved with trying to repair an electronic device. There was a woman and some children. I was having a difficult time making the repair. It was getting late and I was supposed to join the dance troupe at a performance center. I told the woman I had to go but that I would return and fix the device.
  • I went to the performance center. When I got there there was a lot of chaos and confusion. I couldn't find my costume and I didn't know where I was supposed to be when the dancing began. I kept asking people for information but everyone was curt and dismissive. I finally found my costume and made my way to my starting position. The position was high in the wings on a very precarious platform. I made my way to the platform. As I arrived, there was an announcement by the director saying that the performance was postponed for a few days. We were asked to take off our costumes and vacate the center.
  • I slept in this morning. It felt good to rest some since I had nothing planned until around noon.
  • Went to GH's at noon and had bowl of cream and bananas. We read a couple of chapters in the Ishiguro book (it's coming to an end in just a few more pages).
  • I helped GH do some things on his computer. I helped him decipher several input screens since his eyes are not that good.
  • I then took him on a few errands.
  • I had a late dinner at the Persian grill which was very tasty.
  • Now, the day comes to a quiet end.
I had a couple of episodes of redness/flushing. One came on after eating lunch at GH's. A second happened after eating dinner. A third happened as I brushed my teeth before sitting down to make this post. Will contact the dermatologist/PCP tomorrow and see what's next.

What went well today:
  • Had a tasty breakfast at the CG even though it was a holiday. The place was relatively not busy when I got there.
  • Slept a lot today. Slept in this morning and went back to sleep after I did get up. Slept again in the afternoon.
  • Watched a Kurosawa film Rhapsody in August. Not one of his best films. There were certain shots that were like his signature, but the storyline was muddled and very narration-heavy. Richard Gere was in the film in an almost cameo role. He was virtually the only Caucasian in the film. Much of the story revolved around the bombing of Nagasaki and how that impacts people today.
  • Dreamed last night that I was in a house (one I have been in before in my dreams). I was with two men and a woman. One of the men was the woman's spouse. We were sitting around talking and drinking some. It got late and we decided that the other guy and myself would just crash there and head off to work in the morning. During the night, there was some disturbance outside the place. There was someone on a motorcycle and several instances of people talking loud and throwing things. I started to get up but didn't do so. For some reason, the woman was in bed next to me. Her leg was draped over my leg, effectively pinning me down. After a while, the noisemakers dispersed and I fell back to sleep.
  • In a second dream sequence, I was working with a team of people on a software project. I was new to the project and had not learned all of the protocols and processes people used to create a build of the product. I was being mentored by someone who had been there a while. His suggestions were helpful, but I was quite green and was having trouble keeping up with everyone. I had a review with my manager and she walked me through what I needed to have done in order to keep the team on schedule. I agreed with her comments and promised I'd have things ready on time. We made the deadline and people were celebrating. I stood back from things. I felt like I was not fully integrated with the team--that I was an outsider and might never fit in with everyone. The dream was very detailed and some of my tasks involved attaching animated icons to objects on the game board that appeared on the screen. I was doing something that was tricky to do well, but that could be done by anyone with the right skill set.
Had a fairly strong episode of redness/flushing in the afternoon. It happened a few hours after I ate at the CG. I had an omelette. The eggs may have triggered the intense response. Who knows?

What went well today:
  • Lots of sleep. Awoke later than usual to take my medication and so it went from there. Had a late breakfast and then back for more sleep. Got up in early afternoon and went out for a late lunch. Came back and slept some more. Finally had enough and got up and had a bowl of fruit and cottage cheese.
  • Watched a PBS movie Place of Execution. I had seen it before but didn't think so until it started. It was well done and is a great mystery story. The plot has twists and turns that make it an engaging film. Seeing it a second time let me fill in the gaps I had when I first viewed the piece.
  • Dreamed quite a lot last night. One dream segment involved being swept up in a tornado. There were several crashes at the windows and the lights were flashing on and off. Everything about this segment was ultra real. Near the end I noticed that the toilet was clogged and overflowing. I rose up to yell about what was happening and I believe I actually yelled out. A second segment had me coaching a youth soccer club. I was one of three coaches. We were in a practice game and each of us were running with the players as they pushed the ball down the field. It was a fun and enjoyable segment.
  • I felt good today especially with so much sleep. I did have an episode of flushing and redness but it was not as intense as usual. At one point, my face felt warm but I was showing no redness. Perhaps the topicals are doing something after all.
Holiday weekend! Lots of barbecue on the grills.

What went well today:
  • Slept in this morning. Felt good!
  • Went to PD weight training class. Had quite a few people there and it went well. I'm using 10-lb weights and I'm finding them easier to use each week. Some of the weight training activities that deal with balance and foot movement coincides with what we do in gait and balance class.
  • Couldn't home in on what I wanted to eat after class. Finally settled on a pesto pasta dish which really hit the spot.
  • I had less flushing/redness today--had some but not as much as usual.
  • Watched a light comedy film this evening--The Station Agent. It was a frothy piece about misfits and characters. It wasn't a "great" film but it was enjoyable and had a few twists and turns that kept me guessing.
  • Dreamed last night but don't recall the details.
Had a dream sometime this past week about people and social networking sites that helped people in some way. It was a partly creepy dream and it also had some interesting elements. Holiday weekend is upon us. Blessings to all those people who have been hit with bad weather.

What went well today:
  • Went to the movement class early and opened up the place. The regular instructor is out of town and there was a substitute. I had the key to the place so it could opened for her. Class was small--only three people plus the instructor--but was good. Movement makes a difference!
  • Beautiful weather--not exactly normal Spring weather--but still pleasant and cool.
  • Picked up refills of my medications. Thank goodness for Medicare! I only have to provide a co-pay while Medicare picks up the balance. Same for dental work.
  • Had slightly less flushing and redness today. Perhaps the topicals are starting to kick in. Let's hope so!
  • Dreamed last night about doing something with a piece of machinery. Not clear now what it was about. I was hauling metal parts out of a vat of solvents.
  • Didn't take a nap in the afternoon. Felt good to just keep moving.
PD weight training in the morrow.

4015

What went well today:
  • Felt really good when I awoke this morning.
  • Went to PD gait and balance class. It was fun and informative. We did some balancing activities using props on the floor. We did quite a workout. The focus is on intensity.
  • Grabbed some lunch at CG. It was crowded but the sandwich I had was tasty.
  • Did dental hygiene after every meal today. Seeing if I can turn things around with my irritated gum tissue. Rigorous hygiene has got to flip things around.
  • Napped in the afternoon. It felt good!
  • Flushing and redness was not as bad today. Still had some reaction after midday meal but less than usual.
  • Dreamed last night that I was designing a game that involved numbers. It was somewhat like Sudoku but dealt more with shapes and numbers. I was in a pool and had a prototype of the game elements there in the water. The game, in one version, involved having everything getting wet. It was a fun dream.
Movement class tomorrow. Will have a substitute instructor. Looking forward to it!

What went well today:
  • Had a good PD dance class. I got to do the lead role in an improvisation sequence that we will do for the visiting people next week. It was very satisfying to lead the improvisation. Several people came up afterwards and commented on how much they liked what was done.
  • Went almost directly to an acupressure session after the class. Felt good to get a treatment. Came home afterward and slept for quite a while. I had a redness/flushing episode while I slept. Sleep felt good.
  • Did more brushing, flossing and hygiene today. Feels healthy to brush right after eating although it does take more time to do it.
  • Dreamed last night about putting together a set of notes for a project. I had to deliver the notes to a person with whom I was working. The notes were a jumble of odd-sized papers that I had copied and collated. In the dream, I was handing the notes off. I had completed my part of the project. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do next. The dream ended with that question unanswered.
  • Watched a Matt Damon film tonight--Green Zone. It was a thriller about a soldier who gets embroiled in the political issues of the war in Iraq. It was a fast-paced, action flick with lots of explosions and gun battles. It was a good film.
  • Landlord's hot water heater repair work has restored the hot water feed to the apartment. Nice to have hot water again.
PD gait and balance session tomorrow.

4017

What went well today:
  • Picked up an antihistamine from PAMF. It only costs $1.50 for 30 tablets there. It's eight times that much if I get it at Walgreens.
  • Read a couple of chapters of the Ishiguro book with GH. We're getting to the final pages and can't help but wonder how it will end. A lot has been revealed but the final pages no doubt still have a few twists and turns.
  • Landlord repaired the hot water system. Can take warm showers once again. The water with the tanks off was really cold.
  • Did a grocery run to TJ's. They were better stocked than they were on the weekend.
  • Had a late lunch/early dinner at the cafe in MV. Had a simple meal--salad and toasted cheese sandwich. Simple but tasty!
  • Heard some of an interview with Jimmy Fallon on Fresh Air. He's quite funny and uplifting. He's not dazzled by the lights.
  • Went to the dentist. Had a hygiene, x-rays, and check up. Everything went smoothly and quickly. They are quite good at what they do.
  • Dreamed last about working. Don't recall any details but I'm sure it was about working in some form.
Had a couple of episodes of flushing/redness. Both happened a while after eating. Both were a bit more intense than usual. I think the PCP is going to have to do something. The topicals are helping my skin but are not affecting the episodes.

Dental prognosis was not very good. I had a lot of buildup (given that I had a hygiene three months ago). There was lot of gum irritation--more than I would have suspected given how much I brush and so forth. They want me to come back in for some hygiene training and possibly some deep scaling. We shall see!

What went well today:
  • Dreamed a detailed dream last night. I was in a town like PA. The main street had been changed radically since I was last there. There were dozens of small shops, cafes, and bistros along the street. Each of the shops were unique and filled with interesting items. BP was showing me around. He took us into a shop that was filled with mobiles and fountains. The shop was well decorated and the items for sale were highlighted in beautiful displays.
  • We left that shop and went into a cafe that specialized in tasty sandwiches. The shop keeper was demonstrating how she prepared each sandwich. She had a special bread-cutting device that produced two portions of bread from a fresh-baked loaf. The bread was then covered with a selection of toppings and condiments. The results were elegant to look at and wonderful to eat.
  • In a coffee shop, there was a woman working behind the counter that I knew. It was LS, and ex-wife of an old friend of mine. We gave each other a hug and then took our drinks to a table where we could talk. We caught up on what each of us was doing.
  • There was scene in the dream where BP and I had gone into a restroom. The walls were covered with chalk drawings. The drawings were depictions of naughty limericks. I pointed this out to BP and decoded one of the limericks. My recitation drew a small crowd. It was curious to me that no one had figured out what the drawings were about.
  • I had a delicious (and real) sandwich for my non-dream meal.
  • I napped some in the late afternoon after listening to Says You on the radio.
  • I managed to survive the day without warm water. The water heaters stopped working for some reason. Luckily, I could get by without them for today.
  • Watched a DVD of two episodes of a British mystery serial Smiley's People. It features Alec Guinness as a master spy. The two episodes were very well done. I may look for the rest of the episodes.
  • Exchanged DVDs at the library. It was good to get out and about. A beautiful day!
  • Felt good today even though I did have a flushing/redness event late in the afternoon.

4019

What went well today:
  • The apocalypse didn't happen! Things might have still gone well if it had happened. Who knows?
  • Laundry went smoothly. I didn't have a machine malfunction like last time. It was a bit crowded today, but the crowds cleared out after I got started.
  • Had a meal at a place I haven't been to in a while--Garden Fresh. They serve vegetarian dishes that use mushrooms and soy products. I had a tasty dish--in fact it was a dish I had dreamed about several nights ago. Interesting!
  • Weather was beautiful today.
  • Watched another Jarmusch movie--Broken Flowers. It starred Bill Murray. It was an interesting story about a man who is talked into visiting several old girlfriends and opening up old wounds and memories. Ostensibly, one of them had a son by him that he has never known about or seen. Part of his quest was to find out which one. The story ends without him finding out which one, but takes him on ride through his past and all that can be uncovered on such a journey. Jarmusch's films are quirky, odd and very self conscious--but they are unique.
So it didn't end tonight! Just another night among the many that have and will happen.

4020

It's the evening before the apocalypse, which is due in the morrow. Hold onto your hats! Or anything else within your reach!

What went well today:
  • Sleeping in this morning. I got to bed/sleep later than usual last night. The extra time in bed this morning and the extra winks of sleep felt great.
  • Had some dreams that felt good last night and this morning. There was a flood of dreams but I didn't catch the details--just the mood.
  • PD weight training class went well today. I went there feeling a little weak, but came away from the session feeling awake and pumped.
  • Watched some of another Jarmusch film this evening--Coffee and Cigarettes. It was not a very interesting work, but I did glean from what I watched that his films are very much about him personally (egoistically)--not what the characters on the screen are saying and doing. Key insight! I also think I figured out that Bill Murray was in the Mystery Train but not given credit for his appearance. He was the guy in the barber chair.
  • Bumped into a woman that I knew from CW dancing. I was surprised that I remembered her name. We had a long talk. I was sitting in Whole Foods when I looked up and recognized her. I suppose if I were to sit there everyday, eventually I'd see everyone I know. They'd all come through there while shopping for food and stuff.
  • Perhaps I've won the MegaMillion lottery but I guess that's tomorrow's "went well" event. We shall see!

4021

What went well today:
  • Weather--it was beautiful!
  • Movement class was invigorating. It's a joy in my life. Instructor is off for two weeks for a trip to Australia. She has designated substitutes while she is gone. I picked up a key so I can let next week's instructor in the room.
  • TuiNa session this afternoon was very relaxing. I drifted off while I was on the table. Will do another session next week. He unkinked my leg muscles and hip joint which were feeling tight and bound up. He also showed me some acupressure points that might help regulate the flushing/redness I've been experiencing.
  • Had a delicious pulled pork sandwich for a late lunch after the TuiNa session. It tasted wonderful!
  • Watched a Jarmusch film Mystery Train tonight. It is set in Memphis and it was interesting to try and pick out recognizable backdrops.
  • Dreamed last night.
Have a PD weight training class tomorrow. Pump the iron!

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

4022

What went well today:
  • PD gait and balance class (it was energizing and fun). Got the idea for recording "what goes well" each day in my notes here. Checking it out!
  • Took GH to the MP library. While there I discovered that I had dropped off 5 DVDs at the wrong branch. I told the PA library what happened and they renewed the 5 items and said to wait. They said it happens frequently and that the EPA library would forward the items when they discovered the mistake. Worked out! The items were not shown on my account this evening.
  • Had a glitch with my email system (couldn't send messages). Problem corrected itself.
  • Had a movie night at the H's tonight. GH had pulled together some videos of several Swan Lake performances (prompted by our watching the Black Swan production last week). We watched some of the excerpts that showed the development of the ballet over time. He ended with a Matthew Bourne production that had men dancing the roles of the swans. It was very creative and was a striking performance.
  • Sent an update to my PCP giving her the status of my flushing/redness episodes. The skin in the affected areas is less dry and more healthy looking. I still had an episode after eating lunch, but it was moderate in intensity.
  • Got a haircut. Soon I'll be able to just polish my head. I have a very high forehead now.
Have a movement class tomorrow followed by an acupressure session. Looking forward to both activities.

4023

Cool day, today! Went to the PD dance class. It felt good to move and dance. Had a tasty midday meal that helped take the edge off of the cool weather. Came home and felt like sleeping. Slept for several hours in the afternoon. Felt good to sleep.

Had a dream last night where I was at a farm or country place. I was there with a young boy and a woman. There was an older man who was the owner/caretaker of the property. He took me on a tour of the place. There were several (many) places where holes had been drilled in walls, rocks, trees, and elsewhere. The holes were places where metal pipes could be inserted. When a pipe was inserted into a hole, it allowed the hole to be used as a projectile launch location (like a barrel on a gun). There was a need for this type of weapon to be used to protect the property. We didn't have to load up in the dream, but it was clear we would be ready to do so if needed.

Full moon tonight! Perhaps, explains my feeling somewhat antsy. Howl! Howl! Howl!

4024

Cool today! Some rain and some out-of-nowhere coolness! I've been antsy and shivering most of the day.

PD dance class in the morrow. Have to get up a little earlier than usual since class starts at 10 instead of 10:30.

Read another chapter with GH today. We're nearing the end of the book. I notice that I involuntarily repeat phrases as I read aloud. It's like stuttering, but in whole phrases. Odd! Has to do with the PD I guess. Also notice that my breathing is off as I read. I run out of air before completing a sentence now and then. (Although some of the sentences are quite long.)

Rain is pattering away outdoors. Off to the warmth of the blankets and to read a bit before sleeping.

Sunday, May 15, 2011

4025

Rain today and this afternoon. A deluge last night/early morning. And it's turned cool!

I slept most of the day today. Got up late and then went back to bed. Napped on and off for most of the afternoon. Felt good to just be still and sleep. Didn't make it out today. Thought about going out for food a few times, but ended up not doing so. Still full from yesterday's munching.

More rain forecast for the next few days. And there is a decided non-spring chill in the air.

Had a lot of dreams over the past few days and nights, but nothing that I remember. A lot of dreamscapes!

Well, seems like it's time to get horizontal once again. "Planking" is one of the latest fads on facebook--posting a photo of yourself going horizontal on some risky or well know place. Don't think I'll join the lemming run.

4026

Food day! I acted like I was starving. I awoke thinking of food. I wanted something hot and sweet. I got up and went out for breakfast. Had banana french toast at the CQ. It was four slices of egg bread, dipped in egg batter, fried and topped with syrup, almonds and butter. It was wonderful!

Later in the day, I went to the Como Esta and had a suisa quesadilla which was also good. I got a little sleepy after the quesadilla but didn't go back to bed.

I think it's raining right now! Rain and hail forecast for the nighttime. Strange May weather!

Picked up some SciFi periodicals. Haven't bought any for a while. Don't know why!

Sunday tomorrow without the sun, or so it seems. We shall see.

4028-4027

Blog was not available for posting last night. Google was doing some kind of maintenance.

Had a movement class yesterday. Today I had no classes and I ended up sleeping most of the day. After going out for a midday meal, I came back and crashed. I slept for several hours. I must have needed the rest.

I got a rosacea episode before I had a midday meal. Also had some reaction after I ate, but not as much as I expected. I think the episodes are not just related to eating (although eating does trigger a reaction). The topicals are helping clear some dryness but I'm not sure that they are moderating the episodes. We shall see.

Dreams and such have become muddled over the past few days. All of the time seems like a dream.

4029

Watched Black Swan tonight at the H's! A powerful movie! Will have to watch it again to catch all of the subtle elements that are presented. It's an amazing film! Stunning and amazing!

Had a PD gait and balance class today. I enjoyed it but found myself comparing what's going on with me and the illness with others in the room. We were asked if we had ever rock climbed. I was the only one who had done so! Amazing! 1 out of 20!

Continued with my comparisons when I went to a PD lecture at the senior center. It was a good presentation. It was about how to get the most out of treatment options. Learned a lot from the lecture. Discovered a nuance about dyskinesia--that it is not caused by long term use of the medications--the conditions are caused by the disease when the medications stop working. The doctor also did an informative review and comparison of current medications. Well worth the trip to attend!

Movement class tomorrow! Onward and outward!

4030

Busy day! Went to PD dance class in the morning and weight training in the afternoon. Turned bright red and face flushed brightly in the afternoon (between the two classes and after eating some banana and cottage cheese). It was the reddest I've been since all this started. Not sure what the topicals are doing but continue to apply them. I turned red and flushed heavily when I bent over to attach some leg weights. The mystery of the red in the face!

Watched a Jarmusch film tonight--Down By Law. It is a quirky noir-like film about three convicts who escape from a Louisiana jail. There was some classic camerawork done in the film. Roberto Benigni (A Beautiful Life) is one of the leads. He is too loud and wacky, as he is normally, but his acting goes along with the thrust of the film--strange and wacky. I've now seen several of Jarmusch's films. They are a mixed but creative bag.

I did some more searching for people with whom I went to acting school. Found two more: RC and JP. RC was the director of Battlestar Galactica plus many other made-for-TV movies and episodes. JP was the host on several TV game shows and was the news commentator in the BG pilot. Amazing what's on the web!

4031

Monday, Monday! Nothing of importance to report today. Had an episode of rosacea after eating a really light midday meal. I've started a regimen with the topicals. Skin in the affected area seems to be looking better, but still had flare up of redness and flushing. Is a mystery!

PD dance class tomorrow at an earlier hour. Also have PD weight training in the afternoon. Will be a busy day.

Sunday, May 08, 2011

4032

Felt like a lost day today for some reason. Got up this morning but went back to sleep for a while after breakfast. Went out for a midday meal and experienced rosacea (redness and flushing) about one hour afterward. Topical remedies seem to be helping smooth out and moisturize my skin, but still having reactions.

Watched a movie tonight--RKO 281--a film about Orson Welles and the making of Citizen Kane. It was somewhat glossy and never allowed any of the characters to develop a lot. It was done by the Scott's of TV fame and the film had a TV quality about it even though it was set back in time. The film was somewhat informative but never quite got off the ground.

Weather has cooled more. Tonight it's on the edge of being cold. Went shopping today and picked up a few things--boxer shorts, socks, razor cartridges, proxy brushes, and such. Mundane but needed items.

Thought about my mother today. I realized what a tough time she must have had in raising three Hispanic children in those times. The thought was triggered by a family I saw today where the children were obviously adopted and didn't match the adults' phenotypes. Hello Mom, wherever you may be.

4033

Laundry day! Washer at the laundromat jammed up. I had to force the door open to retrieve my clothes and move them to another machine. When I opened the door, water flooded out of the device and spilled all over the floor. I had to pay twice to wash everything and wade around in dirty water. Maybe I was empathizing with Memphis, which is being flooded. Anyway, after paying twice and taking twice as long, I finally did my laundry.

Last night, really late, one of the tenants pulled into the parking area. He, and three or four of his buddies, noisily unloaded a pile of stuff and put it in his storage locker. He was on the phone with his ex-girlfriend, cursing and yelling at her. Apparently, he had moved out of her place and was bringing over his items to underscore the separation. It was annoying to be awakened with such drama and chaotic activities. They finally got everything unloaded and went away.

Did my first round of treatments for the rosacea. I can feel my skin tightening and drying some. I still had an episode of redness and flushing, but not as bad as it has been. Tired tonight! Weather has cooled quite a bit. Mother's Day tomorrow! Happy one, all you mothers!

Friday, May 06, 2011

4034

Didn't want to move today! Felt like I could have stayed in bed. Finally got up and out and made it to the PD weight training class. That activity revived me until the afternoon turned warm. Finally, it cooled down and I felt the energy return.

Laundry day tomorrow. Plus I'll begin the dermatology regimen. I have a busy calendar for the coming month--classes, acupressure sessions, dental appointment, daily routines, and more. I'm feeling like there's too much to keep straight--too much to keep track of. I know that the reality is not that way, but I'm feeling like it is.

And I'm getting overwhelmed by clutter. I need to get the apartment organized and cleaned, but I keep procrastinating. I keep thinking I'll wake up one day and have the energy to just get it done. The days don't turn out that way. But, I need to get it done. It's become a roadblock that keeps getting bigger.

I dreamed last night about being in a house. Outside, there were storage buildings filled with things. In the dream, I was in bed and was awakened by noises in the storage area. I looked out of a window and saw shadowy figures carrying things away. I wanted to stop them. I thought of calling the police, but didn't do so. This dream was related to other dreams where I was in the same house. A bit of deja vu!

4035

Heat wave! Yesterday was hot, hot, hot! Today was also warm. Supposed to cloud up tomorrow and possibly rain. That would be nice!

Had a movement class today. Came away feeling good. Rosacea didn't seem to flair up even after eating. Still taking antihistamine but haven't started doing rinses and lotions. Will begin those regimens over the weekend.

Watched This So-Called Disaster, a film that chronicles the rehearsals for a Sam Shepard play, The Late Henry Moss. It was an interesting film with big name actors. It probed Shepard's processes in writing plays and directing them on stage. The play and the film look at his memories of his father. The film is a behind-the-curtain glimpse at how a play is brought to life.

PD weight training tomorrow. I napped a bit today in my chair. But now I'm somewhat tired and am ready to read and get horizontal.

4036

Saw the dermatologist today. He gave me a set of lotions/creams targeted for rosacea. They are basically antibiotics designed for topical application. They are expensive and along with my PD medications are going to push me into the Medicare donut hole. I now have three separate PD prescriptions (Stalevo 150 [2X], Stalevo 100 [1X], and Azilect [1X]). They each require a co-pay which ends up being $42 apiece per month. That's three times what I've been paying for a single Stalevo 150 prescription, which I was taking three times a day. Medicare Mysterious Mathematics!

Watched South of the Border tonight. It's an Oliver Stone set of interviews with South American leaders of seven countries. It's an eyeopener and indicates that those men and woman are forging an association that does not portend well for the U.S. And it's not that they are planning anything military, but they are working to displace the U.S. control over their destinies.

Dreamed that I was in one of my ex-wives' apartment. I was in a bedroom at the end of a hall. The door to my room opened into the hall. There was another room at the far end of the hall. I had shut the door to my room, but as I was awakening the door was slowly opening. I suddenly noticed that there wasn't a hall, but just the door into my bathroom. My body registered the shock of finding myself in two places (real and dream bedroom). There were other anomalies in the dream room and my real room, including a dream cat (which was in the dream room). A very specific and detailed dream scene.

PD dance class was energizing today. We're doing some improvisational activities that move the spirit. We'll be doing a demonstration for some of the PD foundation people in June. Looking forward to doing it!

Have a meeting with a dermatologist tomorrow plus getting a lipid panel. Today's midday flushing and redness was right on schedule. Will see what is diagnosed.

Got tired today after class and meal. Slept for a couple of hours but sleep left me logy. Better to not nap it seems.

Need to pickup new medication supply tomorrow. Also, can exchange DVDs at the library. Movie night at the H's in the evening. Busy Wednesday!

Busy Day! Two doctor's appointments. Neurologist said I'm looking good. PCP sent me to a dermatologist for the redness/flushing. Still no clue as to what is causing the reaction. Had only light episode today even though I had a late lunch (pizza). PCP also scheduled me for a lipid panel to get some reading on my cholesterol.

Watched the movie The Mask of Zorro. Better film than I had expected. It was done with humor and lots of action. The sword fights were spectacular and never-ending.

Read chapter 27 in the Ishiguro book today. What a piece of writing! It is some of the best prose I've ever read. With words, he conjured up a scene that was so vivid that it almost danced off the page. Amazing!

Got a call from LL today. She was full of stuff regarding everyone moving over to a new dimension, a new universe, later this year. It was good to hear from her. She's living in a paradise now (La Jolla). Beautiful views of the ocean and beach walk from her apartment.

PD dance class tomorrow. Looking forward to it!

Didn't do much of anything today. Had episodes of face turning red and cheeks flushing. Happened before I ate anything and after eating. Is a mystery! Will see PCP tomorrow and see what she has to say once she hears what happened. Have an early appointment with the PD specialist. Will have to arise and get going in the morning!

Weather has begun to get warm.

Dreamed last night that I was helping install some kind of bio-device. The units were designed to transmit a virus or genetic element into the hands of anyone who touched the devices. The units looked like old-fashioned camera boxes, but had a row of sensor elements that contained the delivery system for virus or genetic compound. It was a very technical dream. The units were designed to infect any of the aliens that we were fighting. Very strange!
